The process

DESIGN

To design and manufacture great solutions we need to have close relationships with the users of our BOSS™ range of products. We need to know what challenges the fishing boats, aquaculture and industrial companies are facing and then create innovative, functional products that solve them.

KNOWLEDGE

Our skill is to take the concept to reality as quickly and efficiently as possible, with no shortcuts. To do this we use a variety of software tools to create models and visualize the finished product. Our product development process also involves 3D-printing samples to check their shapes and physical functionality. Once this stage is complete, moulds are made for each product.

BLEND

We then decide on the specific blend of stainless steel we need, depending on physical properties needed for each product (strength, durability, corrosion resistance etc). As several different types of stainless steel are available and its important to select the right mix that deliver these properties in a cost-efficient manner.

CASTING

All our BOSS™ products are produced by casting in our factory in Norway. Casting is a process of forming metal by heating it enough to melt it, then pouring this molten metal into a mold, where it solidifies into the desired shape. The advantage of this process is that it enables relatively flexible integrated molding.
